WHAT TO DO IN NASHVILLE
Did you know that Nashville is #1 Destination for bachelorette parties? In Nashville, you will see a bride with a wedding veil in shorts and cowboy boots running around with her girlfriends. Or you will see a group of girls riding on a pedal tavern drinking beer and singing.
I visited Nashville this August and it blew my mind. What a fun town it was! You don’t want to miss out on Nashville experience of live music and warm Southern flare. Especially, if you are a music fan like me, you are in for a treat.
If you can afford it, I recommend staying in downtown Nashville because all the bars with live music are located on Broadway downtown. You can walk around and bar hop.
LIVE MUSIC
All the music venues on Broadway don’t have cover charge. They have excellent live music and performers in every corner. If you like rock music, you don’t want to miss out on watching Donne Lee singing Kid Rock’s Cowboy on top of the bar at Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk Rock N’Roll. Of course, country music is everywhere.
Some of the venues you must visit are:
Honky Tonk Central
Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk Rock N’Roll
Jason Aldes
Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge
Whiskey Room Live- Franklin
FOOD
Nashville is known for its BBQ. Martin’s Bar-B-Que joint on 410 4th Street S. is the best. They have the most juicy, delicious and fatty ribs and briskets. There is a long line but you can skip the line if you go to the bar upstairs.
If you get hot waling around, try Mike’s Ice Cream shop (129 2nd Ave N.) with its famous home-made ice creams. I tried Raspberry Chips and Loaded Butter Scotch and they were simply yummy! I think it is one of the best ice creams I've ever had. It has been featured in People Magazine and Rachel Ray.
OLD TOWN TROLLEY ($39.95)
If you want to tour the city, you can hop on the old town trolley. It has various stops all around the city, so it is super convenient.
WHAT TO DO
The trolley has a stop at Farmers Market and also at the Parthenon. At the Farmer’s market, you will find fresh local produce, artisan food, restaurants and crafts. Parthenon is a replica of Greek Parthenon and is an art museum which has a permanent collection of a group of 63 painting by 19th and 20 century American artists.
If you have some free time, you might also want to check out a trendy social hangout, Pinewood Social (33 Peabody St.) where you can just hang out. They have a pool, bowling and a restaurant.
Also, in Nashville, you might want to pick up a hat, a pair of boots or accessories. I bought a cute hat and a hand-crafted bracelet which I love.
Hope you have as much fun as I had and gain positive experience in Nashville!
